Happy Birthday Karla!

I recently had the good fortune of being able to produce some vases that were commissioned by a husband to his wife for her Birthday (which is today, so Happy Birthday Karla!).  I haven't made vases in years, and I was very excited to get back into the saddle and start producing them again.  I made several, and finished the best two for him to choose one- they came out great and he chose not one, but both! Yea!

The best part about making these vases was knowing that they would be appreciated and have a good home.  Apparently Karla loves to sail, is interested in underwater aquatic life, and her kitchen (the new home of these vases) is decorated in shades of teal.  Her husband told me that we share the same interests, and to make whatever I'd like to along those lines.  This was the best commissioned job I've ever under taken.  If only everyone who placed special orders was so easy to please!

I'll post photos soon of the other vases as they're completed, as well as a whole host of photos of new work.  I've spent the last two months trying to get a new body of work together, and it's finally coming along.

Thanks to all the loyal followers of Shine Ceramics who have been patient over the last few months.  New pots are on the way!
