Motherly Love Mixed Media on Panel by Kelly J. LeverI'm headed to New York this weekend! My friend Kelly Lever (of Honest Works Ceramics) has a painting in a show that opens in Brooklyn this Friday. The show is comprised of all female artists and is sponsored by Juxtapoz. The exhibition is being held in a paint supply store that is rather controversial; apparently the place sells mostly graffiti paint and supplies, and a couple of older NYC Council members want to shut the place down. We've rented an apartment for the weekend and are headed out this Thursday . I'm so excited I think my head is going to explode.

Step 1: Take Julie around NYC and try to make sure she has a kick-ass time.
Step 2: Get Julie to move to NYC, because this is the greatest city in the world, and she'd prosper and love every second of it.
Seriously, dude, I'm so f'n excited that you're coming to my hood. It's gonna be great. You've been on my list of "People From Home Who Really Need to Move to NYC" from day one. Can't wait til Friday.
